The Tears of Ashura juloos stands as a peaceful and dignified expression of devotion to the legacy of Imam Hussain (a.s.), the beloved grandson of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). His stand at Karbala was not only a historic event of sacrifice, but a timeless symbol of resistance against injustice, corruption, and moral decay.

Our procession is more than a remembrance — it is a reaffirmation of the universal principles that Imam Hussain (a.s.) lived and died for: truth, justice, compassion, and the protection of human dignity. In an age still burdened by inequality and oppression, his legacy continues to inspire hearts across all faiths, cultures, and communities.

This juloos welcomes everyone, regardless of background, to walk together in the spirit of unity, empathy, and humanity. It is a platform for standing in solidarity with the oppressed and amplifying the values that bind us as a global human family.

Before embarking on the journey to Karbala, Imam Hussain (a.s.) proclaimed:

“I have not risen to spread evil or show off. I have risen only to seek reform in the Ummah of my grandfather (Prophet Muhammad ﷺ). I wish to enjoin good and forbid evil.”

The legacy of Imam Hussain (a.s.) offers us a transformative path forward. When we embrace his values of moral integrity, sacrifice for others, and unwavering commitment to justice, we sow the seeds of positive change in our societies. His example teaches us that meaningful change begins with courage, compassion, and the willingness to stand for what is right — even in the face of adversity.

By sharing this message with sincerity and love, we can build bridges between people of different backgrounds and beliefs. Imam Hussain’s (a.s.) legacy reminds us that our shared humanity is greater than our differences. His stand at Karbala is not just a chapter of Islamic history — it is a guiding light for bringing people together, healing divisions, and building a more just and compassionate world.

Through this juloos, we honour that legacy — and commit ourselves to carrying its light into every home, every heart, and every community.
